The Tipsy Crow | When This Crow Knows, You Know
The Tipsy Crow
San Diegos, CA
Drinks, Beer & One Pool Table
I recently revisited The Tipsy Crow, a bar I hadn’t been to in about six years—pre-COVID—and I'm so glad I did. Not only did this place survive the tough pandemic years, but it seems like they used that time to fine-tune everything. Walking into The Tipsy Crow again felt like a nostalgic trip, filled with not just great beer and cocktail options but also a lively energy from friendly guests and staff. It was like stepping back into a time when bars were buzzing with good vibes, laughter, and the kind of carefree fun we’ve all missed.
This time, I didn’t come alone. I brought a friend who had heard me rave about this spot for a while. We were in town for a work function, so I seized the opportunity to show her The Tipsy Crow. She’s a huge sports fan, so we went during a big game.
As you might expect, the place was packed, and the energy was electric. Parking was tricky, as it often is in a major city like San Diego, but we finally found a spot a few blocks down. The walk was worth it, giving us a chance to take note of the variety of shops, eateries, and bars in the area.
“Plenty of selections to satisfy any drink expert in the main bar at The Tipsy Crow.“
We arrived midday but ended up staying well into the evening. I had a few beers, and the vodka soda’s kept her company —nothing special, like a local brew or a signature cocktail, but the experience was made memorable by the bartender. She was engaging, offering us fantastic recommendations on things to do around the city, knowing we were just visiting. She even suggested an Italian restaurant that we checked out later that week. (“My Take” on that place will be available soon ).
As we settled in, we started chatting with some new friends sitting next to us. The upbeat energy was contagious, and before we knew it, we were challenging them to a game of pool. Upstairs at The Tipsy Crow feels like a whole different vibe—more like a laid-back lounge with cool décor and comfy couches. The pool table isn’t a pro-level setup, but that’s the charm. It’s designed for casual fun, and we had a blast playing a few rounds, laughing, and soaking in the positive energy that filled the space.
Overall, The Tipsy Crow brought back that pre-COVID joy of a night out, where you can just relax, have a drink, and meet new people in a lively atmosphere. The whole experience was a reminder of how much fun a night out can be, and we’ll definitely be returning with more friends next time.
